Default *CLOSED* Doc Bean's, T206 x160 24* AUCTION

Okay, trying a different approach... This should bring back the love, we once shared.

All poor, backs show no paperloss, at least none I could find. A few minor leaguers and OM's, otherwise all Piedies.

GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC ONLY... No complaints, returns or emails. Bid as if these suck hard. PP+3%, Money orders, CC, P-checks (held), cash too. Shipping NOT Included... Thankyou!

ENDS at Noon TODAY (EST, 4-5-2011)

Starting at $.99

$18.95 increments. (Doc's year of birth. Aint I clever?)

You win, guess my favorite beer... Get another Five HOF's!

Poorly cropped photo, not trimmed. There are a fair share of crease free cards in this group. Not too shabby for a low grade group. Good luck gang.

Congrats to Toby.

Steve, +1 for the format - hope you decide to do more in this manner!

And Steve probably supports the Boston area - Sam Adams is the choice.

Scott, My wife spends $K's a yr on; Sam *blech*, the Marriott Long Wharf, Customs House, Fenway, the Garden, Gillette, the North End and every dive barn in town.

I spend just a few bucks supporting the old brewery in Milwaukee. Thinking High Life is like $10/case. Although, many of my favorite baseball cards were produced here;

Default T206 Lot

$5018.95...... Does anyone think "Money was left on the table" for this lot.
I think this was a strong price for the lot and do not believe that a major auction house would have gotten much more plus you saved the buyer premium which would have added 12-20%.

Draft beer buffet, with a ditzy and loud OHB. Wearing crocs and little hats.

If I weren't so husky, I could have reached for the tab.

Thanks again,
Both of us

edited to be nicer and more tactful. I would say folks need to look at the scans, and if small, make sure you realize the creases could be more significant than they appear (again, only if a small scan)....Would be nice to see some of the earlier cards also, just to know what was in the group and to see some fresh to the hobby, nicer cards....Steve is doing a good job with them and I wish him the best.

Default reiterate

I want to reiterate that I don't think Steve did anything wrong. The reason for my other post was to let folks know they need to be careful due to the small scans.

As a true collector, and loving rare cards, it would have been nice to have a shot at the (other) good things in the groups too. I am not looking for a refund of any type. I also don't think Toby did anything wrong or anything anyone of us wouldn't have done too.

If someone said "hey, take a look at this thousand cards and give me an offer on any of them you would like".....any one of us would do that. I would. Can't blame a guy for that. regards

Agreed. I'm not saying anything is not above board either. I'm not looking for a refund either.

I'm just stating that it seems like Toby is a bit of a champion of the lots and of the find. If you look at his posts, he is consistently bumping and pumping the merchandise. Again, no foul. That's just the way he sees it. I have no problem with it.

Nah, Toby is a straight shooter. His items were no better, nor more rare than anyone elses and he rec'd no bargains.

As far as rarities (none of any significance), or an upgrade for my collection; I'd sold some of my old, larger ticket items to Toby and two other local collectors, at a very fair price -I'm no rube. I then purchased items set aside, directly from the family. This I'd commented on in a prior post. Trust me. Noone received a better deal or benefitted more than any other. Well, except for my kids' once meager collection. I was able to upgrade a number of our E and T beaters, 1- 1.5s to possibly 3 or hopefully, 4's.

Many building the monster, have received a huge boost. And the residual items trickling out from my buyers' seconds and dupes, should help the N54 gang in general.

Email me direct, if any questions. Steve

(more T206's remain, if anyone needs something specific)
