Default Babe Ruth Wm. Paterson ?

Any thoughts on why this ruth didn't sell? Were people shy because of the bvg holder? This card went for $4100 in a psa 1 holder last year.....Thoughts?

This result was interesting as well:

I know at least 2 of our members have been after that one for some time, which probably explains it.

All (or most) of the Pattersons up for sale last night had reserves which had not been met as of yesterday, so I honestly think some people just tend to stay away from auctions with reserves in general. That may have had something to do with the Ruth price being where it was.

I was very interested in some but then they had reserves and I forgot about them until the auctions were over.

The Ruth had a reserve of $3,000 on it. Still probably a good buy....if it would cross to a SGC 20 you could probably make out like a bandit.

But bad scans, no back scans, and all ending within a minute of each other instead of stacking them a couple minutes apart....

I was interested in two of the Paterson's but I generally do not bid in Reserve auctions. The Reserve auction format likely restricted healthy snipes in many of the lots.

I was watching these also. All of the cards met reserve and sold except the Ruth. A Hornsby even went for over 3K.

Me too, I had my eyes on a few but the reserves turned me off. I try not to bid on items with hidden reserves.

I won three of them - thought the reserves were pretty reasonable.
