T202 Lord Catches His Man - Joe Jackson poll

On the whole "T202 Lord Catches His Man - Joe Jackson center panel" debate, a while back, I merged a new thread that was started as I felt all of the thoughts should be in one thread and didn't want the whole front page dominated by 1 debate. However, I think it will be fun to see what percentage of the board feels that the center panel of the T202 in question is Joe Jackson? Your responses will be seen publicy ....

I went ahead and picked that I 100% think it is JJ. The 91-99% would've been the "safer" way to vote, but I'm "going all in"

And, I'm not afraid of being wrong, I've been wrong many times in life- but I'm now convinced that it is Jackson.

I know we have been a bit overwhelmed with this whole debate but I do think it will be interesting where this will end up on a percentage basis. I think I voted for the 61%-80% range...
I wonder if I should have done it as a closed poll so folks wouldn't be able to see how others voted? Maybe I will do a poll to see? (J/K)

Of course it's either 100% or 0% technically.This poll is only for how strongly you feel it is, or isn't, him.

I voted 100% as I believe the newspaper photo and the T202 image were taken during the same play. Since I believe that then the T202 has to be Joe.

100% agree - The newspaper photo comparison clinched it for me.
I think the answer would have to be 100% if the poll question was written as follows:
"What percentage think the newspaper photo and center panel are from the same play?"

The curves in the pant stripe match exactly in both photos. Add this fact to the photo matches Tim and others pointed out and it must be the same play.

No, genius... but 80% of the people do think there's a better than 80% chance that it's him. That means they're all believers. People will always leave a little room for doubt if they're given that option. I would have rather the new poll simply stated "do you believe it's him, yes or no".

There are a million ways to do a poll. I felt this would be more accurate. For most of us, as I am certain the poll will show (and you will begrudgingly have to concede to), it's not black or white. You don't have to agree, but the poll will inevitably show it's not what you would like it to be and profess it to be (which is everyone agreeing it's 100%). (at least not yet)

That was my whole point, wasn't it good enough for you that the majority of people were convinced that it might be him? You were saying how if you weren't 100% sure then you were brain-dead. I guess you softened your stance a little finally.

I would like to hear from those that are less than 90%. What at this point is keeping you from feeling stronger that it is Joe?

Paul and I both agree that if you think the newspaper photo and T202 panel were taken at the same time that it must be Joe. Do you disagree with this? Do you have doubts about the two photos being taken at the same time?

As I've become more comfortable with my position I would like to hear more from the other side.

50%??? I would love to hear the rationale from the person that says 0%. Even if you are skeptical, what is the reasoning behind a "NO WAY" call? Is the person that said no way, the person that took the picture or a spectator that day

I would find it really hard to give a flat out 0% chance. Just my opinion.

Let me clear one thing up. I voted 91-99% on JJ being JJ. My vote of 50% was on my declaration of a fictitious poll on avoided posts on the JJ thread

Jeff - Do you still have doubt that the newspaper photo and the T202 photo were taken during the same play? I'm not looking to brow beat anyone but am just curious with the given information what your reservations are for not being more sure it's Joe. Thanks.

I clicked 81%-90%.

I do not feel completely 100% comfortable in saying the two photos are of the same play. The newspaper photo is just too dark and grainy for me to make an intelligent decision. I see what I think are anomalies between the two photos, and until they are completely resolved, I just can't say that it is Joe Jackson on the T202.
