I have been slowly reading through The T206 Collection book/The Players & their Stories for the last month and have found it pretty good reading. Actually I really like the the book and it has pushed me to "forge" on with my T206 collection.
I found one "so called fact" that lost me a bet. Page 93 mentions that Lee Tannehill is the only shortstop in major league history to convert 2 unassisted triple plays in the same game (Aug. 4, 1911). That was a fact that I never heard of before. After betting one of my trivia buff friends that two unassisted triple plays happened in one game, I was proved wrong. As it turns out Tannehill turned two unassisted DOUBLE plays in that game. Other than a little misinformation, is anyone else finding the book a good read? |

I have it on my coffee table, I think overall it is a pretty neat read.

It could be much improved if the T206 pics were of actual raw cards instead of weird reprint images.

I have found it to be an excellent introductory book that i now leave for others to read in the waiting room at my practice.
I guess i'm always looking for folks to get interested in vintage collecting. The volume may need a minor ERRATA section. best, barry |

I received my copy a couple of days ago. I'm wondering what is meant by the reprint images being weird. Are they different than the actuals?

I enjoyed reading the book, every t206 card was covered.

The images shown in the book appear to be photos of a reprint set, not of original cards. It's hard to describe but this makes them seem just a little "off."

Can someone post some scans of pages from the book? This is one of those books I'm interested in but I'd want to flip through it first before making a final decision.

Gary: Here's the Table of Contents so you can see how the book is organized, and a typical page to show how the cards and info are laid out. The book breaks no new ground and the reprints are a bit off-putting but it is still an interesting and useful compilation of the cards and players of T206; I consider it a welcome addition to my baseball library. (If anyone ever does a similar book about T210s or Zeenuts I will think I have died and gone to heaven).

Go to Amazon.com. They let you look through a lot of pages.

I am pretty sure Ralph-The Old Mill Man is working on the t210 book-we all can't wait to get our hands on that one...

Haven't read the T206 book but those reprint images don't help it's allure. I am not saying anything bad about it, however it does "look" a little visually off to me too.
