Orange border Mathewson opinions
Is this card real? I am not super familiar with orange borders and have only had a few in the past... (less than 5). Its beat to hell and $499 seemed a bit out of whack..

I have handled several, have 2-3, and it looks real to me from the scan. The price was high for the condition and thus it didn't sell. Nothing too peculiar on this one.

i wasn't sure if it was the cost or the validity that caused it not to sell..  Assuming its real and in that condition, what would you expect the hammer price to be?

If I am not mistaking there have been a few lower grade ones for sale over the last several years. I would think that if that one started at .99, it would go to between $100 and $200 ......but that is just a semi-educated guess. I think Orange Borders are neat but have 2-3 already....plus that one is a bit more off condition than I normally collect.
