Latest issue of Old Cardboard found its way to the mid-Pacific today. Gave it a once over and it looks like a winner. The cover story is a comprehensive overview of Cuban cards from 1909-1950 by Cesar Lopez whose www.cubanball.com website has been an indispensable resource for me as I've attempted to get acquainted with various Cuban issues. Also featured is an article by Jim Van Somebody on the subject of 1932 NY Giants Schedule Postcards.
I've opined here before and I will opine here again that Old Cardboard is a very worthy publication that deserves to be supported. A subscription is $17.95 per year. You cannot buy a beater for less than that so if you're not a subscriber, then subscribe. You will get your money's worth and then some, and you will help ensure that the rest of us continue to get our OC fix. We now return to our regularly scheduled program. ![]() ![]()

Bought a 2 year subscription and every back issue produced and my Vintage IQ has gone up 9 points ! Seriously, I just received my second quarterly issue and a wealth of knowledge is in each and every issue. I liked it so much, I bought all the back issues and have read every one of them. Simply a professional, well done mag ! The price is a no brainer...

What a loser that guy is! He's been begging, pissing, and whining for years about that set. Now he's writing articles? Probably set back OC's subscription goals by 50%!

I recently purchased a back issue of OC (#2, Winter 2005) because it has an article on the 1935 Goudey 4-in-1 set. That was my first exposure to the magazine and I was really impressed. I'll be signing up for a subscription for sure.

Except for that ugly mug on the bottom left of the Collectors Dugout, it was a fab issue!
Jim VB-it occurred to me that the time variations in the directions on the 1932 NYG Schedule cards may have had something to do with distribution in New Jersey vs. New York. The Speedway entrance would have been known to New Yorkers maybe a little better than New Jerseyites and it looks to me like they added five extra minutes if you were coming from Joisey. Just a thought. Great article! |

Jim- if the cards were reissued today they might read: "one hour and fifteen minutes from the George Washington Bridge to the Polo Grounds." I'm accounting for all the extra traffic.
But excellent article. |

Did everyone get their copy of this so far? I'm wondering what happened to mine if it made it to Hawaii before it got to Nebraska.

Great Magazine. Much like that Joe guy on ebay, top shelf. The old article's by Tim Newcomb on the M116 and T-207 sets are like gold to me. I reference them all the time.
Look forward to digesting this issue. |

Leon - got my issue today. Happened to notice the Net54 ad in the back of the magazine still advertises the link to the old forum. Maybe we should update that ad?!
