A little more Shag / T206 origin
The Shag Shaughnessy thread got me inspired...I picked this composite up at least 25 years ago...you will see both the Shaughnessy and Ryan T206s are taken from these shots. This composit is probably about 20 inches tall by 24 inches wide with each of the photos being individual 3 x 5s and sort of a "metallic" sheen to the shots...
I have always liked this piece. It has a lot of "T206s that never were." The composite reads (white paint, hand written) Roanoke Base-ball team, champions Virginia League 1910, Photo copyright Kidd 1909. The players pictured are: Robertson Andrada Reynolds Touchstone Doane Schmidt Painter Doyle Pressley Newton Ryan Heins (secretary, became one of the richest men in Western Virginia...hated his business partner...he would work mornings and leave at noon and this partner would work afternoons) Holland Shaugnessy / Mgr Powell Williams / President A link to the team roster: http://www.baseball-reference.com/mi...m.cgi?id=30757
