I was just wondering if anyone on the board collects these? If anyone has any scans or photo's I'd love to see them. This set seems to have a lot of great players in it,I just can't seem to find any examples to look at.
Thanks-Clayton |

I'm pretty sure there is a Wagner and a Matty on the board too.

The J, K and A cabinets are not very common, and are, I think, among the nicest of the early 20c. In addition to the two fronts of Ames and Sheckard, I have also scanned the back of Ames to display the J, K & A publication notice. There is a copyright stamp at the bottom of each player's photo (obscured by the grass in Ames) with what appears to be a series number. That number is repeated in the bottom right corner of the photo's mount.
The real expert on these cabinets, as he is with virtually all 19c and early 20c material, is Terry Knouse. Cheers, Mike |

Agree with all of the comments above. I think the images are what set the JKA's apart from other period issues.
I think I need to rescan mine to make the image a little darker like Jeff and Tyler. They look much better with the dark black gasket contrast. ![]() ![]() Last edited by rman444; 01-20-2010 at 10:50 AM. |

Bruce - It still pains me to see that Wagner in your collection rather than mine

Richard it pains me to know that I sold both of those. Never said I was smart.

Greg - I'm sure that all of the other goodies that you have locked up more than make up for it!

This is my first post on the new board. While posting on the old board as Flowage Guy I may have put this up. Without the aid of a new Standard Catalog I believe there are still several unknown players waiting to be paired up with known card numbers.

A few years back at a Chicago National, TIK had a stack of 10-15 of these. Some mounts were a little worn, but the pictures looked flawless. A number of the cabinets in this thread probably came from that group. Here's another one:
