I know of a Wagner coming up, and if I were a betting person, I would bet every one of these will come up for sale in 2010. The Jackson and Stengel are very scarce though....

I would say definitely two of the four with the T206's being the sure things.

I agree. All will most likely pop up at some point in 2010. If I had to choose one though that may not, I'd go with the T210 Jax.

Legendary has a Wagner, and I think REA has a T210 Jackson. And there should be at least half a dozen Planks being offered. For a rare card it does show up frequently for sale. Don't know about a Stengel.

Hey Tony
I agree with you that we don't really see a Jackson every year. We will see multiple Planks and Wagners, I would guess, and their prices won't be less than last time they sold. It's all about supply vs demand.

Default Auction Year 2010

I got an email from Legendary auctions a few days ago that stated there will be a T-206 Wagner & Plank in the February 2010 auction. It didn't say what they were graded.

I am almost positive that there is a T210 Jackson along with a PSA 8 D304 Ty Cobb in the next REA auction.

Tony
If this is the case I wonder what the record number of attempts at a sale by a single card (D304) is?

It's interesting how frequently these very rare and expensive cards have been coming up for sale. I think it's an economic sign of the times.

Maybe a Stengel will turn up in a Goodwin Auction in the near future. I saw one in his showcase of upcoming auction highlights at a card show not too long ago.

The Plank is funny because for a few years they hardly showed up and then it seems like the floodgates opened in the past few years. Maybe it will dry up and the cycle will continue.

I think the streak of five consecutive Baltimore News Ruths may have ended...DiMaggio's record is still safe.

I talked to him last week. He does not anticipate another Baltimore News Ruth.

Are you sure it was to highlight an upcoming auction, as opposed to a previous one?

The D304 Cobb PSA 8 never met the reserve in the Oct 09 Heritage Auction. Didn't they also have the T210 Jackson or was that a Stengel? Someone had a Jackson in the last few months...

Well I am sure he didn't anticipate the others either, based on the writeups.

You never know what the next phone call will bring, but REA is getting closer to their auction deadline. You would think that someone who wanted to sell a Ruth would have contacted them by now...but of course one can pop up anytime.

In the recent heritage auction they had both a Stengel and a Jackson. The Stengel was a PSA 6 and the Jackson a 2.

Neither the Cobb nor Jackson hit the reserve. They were both advertised recently as consigned to the upcoming REA auction.
