I'm going to be in Chicago for a few days at the end of this week, and plan to make my first visit to Wrigley--Thursday afternoon game vs. the Nationals. Anyone want to come along?
Weather forecast isn't that great, but I'm willing to take the risk. Bill |

You have fun!
I'll be sitting in the new ball park in Bowling Green, Ky... The Bowling Green Hot Rods, in their inaugural season, host the West Virginia Power. A bunch of kids in their mid 20s playing out a dream for just over $200 a week. All of them wanting to move up... Maybe what we need is a day when we all close "Net54" and all of us go to a ball game. Reckon there's enough of us scattered about that on one day someone from this board could be at each major league game? Then we could do a thread that would have what happened at each game, kinda a digital blog time capsule of a day in baseball... |

Thanks, Frank. I'll be doing my part. Cubs at Wrigley on Thursday, then Frederick Keys at Harry Grove Stadium on Saturday night.

Birdman,
Wish your plans were just a month earlier. I was in Chicago last month and caught my first Cubbies game at Wrigley Field. Just a few suggestions, take lots of photos. I must have taken a hundred pictures to document my visit. Arrive early as the staff is pretty good about letting fans get right down to the railing to watch batting practice. Lastly, take the stadium tour. It's worth the $25 as seeing the various cracks and crevices not normally accessable to the public is worth admission. Hearing the tour guide telling the history of the park one can almost visualize what the park was like yesteryear. Best of all, enjoy the time and scenery. It went by way too fast for me! ErikV |

Have fun, you will definitely enjoy it if it is your first time. I live about an hour and a half south of Chicago, and am lucky enough to go to 6-8 games a year at Wrigley if not a few more. I will be at Monday's game against Houston. It never gets old, no matter how many times I go. Unless you're sitting in the 200 level behind one of the beams.
