I picked this up in Roanoke, VA visiting my parents. It's 1917, but still a nice looking piece of Piedmont tobaciana. Thought you would enjoy the simple and straight forward business proposal. Wish it were still like that.

Thanks for posting that. Many of us love those kinds of things. I am a fairly avid collector of ephemera related to companies that put cards out......Here is a Sub Rosa letterhead I don't think I have shown before. They were one of the brands, along with Dixie, that put out the the N508 women series....

More interesting is that JD Miller is a subject in the T205 gold border set (and the T206 set). Dots also lived in and around New Jersey and New York....can't really tell the state designation but there is a Newton, New Jersey. Might be a coincidence...might not...

I'm working on a Kimballs N184 set, so I grabbed this 1886 letterhead. Had nice business content as well. Here is the blowup up the top portion where you can see the factory image.

Didn't even think about the name being a player. My thought is that I'm not that lucky and Newton is in NC very near Danville, VA so probably not. I'll see if I can pull some more documents from the closet and scan them in this afternoon. Please keep sharing, very neat stuff. Eric |
