Default 1952 Bowman...new wrapper variation discovered?

Hey all, looking for input from any 1952 Bowman experts or vintage wax pack wrapper experts.

I've been looking to add a wrapper to my 1952 Bowman collection, and I knew there were three variations...one cent, five cent, and a once cent that had duplicate fielder images as opposed to the batter, fielder rotation.

I noticed a beat up 5 cent version came up on eBay recently but as I looked at the scans, I noticed it appeared to be a FOURTH version that I have not seen before.

On every other 5 cent wrapper, I have seen the text "6 Official Picture Cards". But this version was missing the "6". It just says "Official Picture Cards". I threw a $50 bid on it in the closing minute, but it wound up selling for over double that.

It was from a Canadian seller...so maybe Bowman released a different version in Canada?

Here's a picture from the auction...it looks authentic.

For comparison, here is a picture from oldcardboard.com showing what I thought were the only three wrapper types.

Has anyone else seen a 5 cent 1952 Bowman wrapper without the "6"?

Interesting. Seems like you have come upon a variation and you could be correct that it might be Canadian. It appears that a different printing plate was used for the wrapper minus the card count. Perhaps a Canadian company wanted to distribute packs with fewer than six cards?

Default Wrapper

The 5 cent definitely a deliberate variation

That’s really interesting to know and for updating a checklist.
