Default My 1946 to 22 MLB Debut Autograph Collection Video

As many of you know, I have been working on this collection for the last 23 years. When I tell people, no one believes me so I figured I would make a video

Tell me what you think, and thank you to everyone who has helped me over the years.

Very cool collection. Love the fact that you are digging up stories of player's that the world has forgotten.

Have you considered trying to put together years before 1946?

I've been trying to persuade him to do so for many years! There are so many more fascinating life stories that predate the 1946 cutoff point.

Maybe go backwards one year at a time. Make a video about each year as you go.

Really cool. 10-20 Years ago there were several guys trying to get everyone after 1930. Many of those collectors either gave up, passed away, or sold their collections. Only a few remain from what was (at one point) a pretty bustling area of the hobby. I am hoping this turns around again as it is so much fun to research these guys and search them out.

There are 2-3 nearly impossible rarities from the 1930's (as I am sure you already know) but aside from those guys, most can be found with some time and perseverance so I would say GO FOR IT!

Congrats

Rhys

I am curious as to who you felt were the most challenging to find that might not be some of the obvious ones, like Wenc Gonzalez. Some e who surprised you at how tough they were.

Thanks again for the nice commets

This has made me consider going back in years. Today I pulled all my 1940 to 1945 index cards, and my debut lists for those years, and going to see who i have and who i need and I think im gonna go for it

As to the one I think is one of the toughest it was someone named Bill Froats who played one game in 1955 for the Detroit Tigers. It strange he was American and lived long, but I have only seen his autograph once. Never on a team signed item, no where. I was lucky enough to get him on an index card years ago, and at the time did not realize how tough he was.
