Default Dixie Lid Movie Star questions

I obtained this card in a lot a Dixie Lid cards awhile back. The advertiser on the back is Hoodsie Ice Cream. It appears to be a strip of three Dixie Lid cards that were never punched out for distribution. However, I don't see any place for the tabs. Is this some sort of salesman sample? Or maybe a strip card that was sold in vending machines? Anyone else see anything like it?

Thanks for any help.

Joe

Those are neat. The tab would just be part of the shape of die that punches it out, so I'd say they are part of a sheet most likely.

If you want a card, you might not get a deal. If you want a deal, you might not get a card.

Agree with above post. They did come in different sizes by the way….. and a ton of different ice cream backs. Cool item…..

It was part an uncut sheet - the tab just hasn't been cut. (I own one from a different series)

Perhaps at some point, it might have been used a store display item, salesman sample, or simply saved from the printers by the local dairy.

Actually, each of these has a clear place for the tabs. A properly cut lid has the “Litho in the U.S.A.” printing in the tab. They are technically miscut if it does not appear there. So I also agree these are cut from a sheet.

Here is the Anne Baxter lid. The “Litho in the U.S.A.” is outside of the tab's range.
