Has anyone ever custom-framed their graded cards?
Posted By: Jared
I bought a handful of T206 HOFers with the intention of framing them for display in my den. They're graded and I don't want to crack them. I'm going to have a local frame store make a custom frame for me where the cards are arranged 3-slabs x 2-slabs so that only the cards are shown (the slabs are hidden under the matting). |

If I remember correctly from some prior thread, there are some frames available at Target that people seemed to like to hold slabbed cards. |

actually, if you are interested, there is a company on Ebay that makes what are called Pennozzi cases. They are cases that will hold graded cards and have a plexiglass front that opens up so you can put your cards in the case. I have one that holds my t 207 graded Cubs cards and one that will hold 30 graded yankee e121 cards. They come in black or cherry wood and look awesome. |

Per recommendation of others from the board, I too picked up some frames from Target. I think they were $20 each. The first picture below is the frame empty, as it would be on the store shelf. Next picture I threw in some cards in SGC holders. All holders will fit, though BVG holders are a little snug due to their thickness. Much cheaper than custom framing! |

OK, let me ask a really stupid question. How do you get the cards (holders) to stay, are they under glass? |

Yes! They are under glass and sit in the matting openings. |

Any picture frame for 4x6s should work, so long as the frame is deep enough to accommodate the slab depth, which is exactly what this Target frame is. |

Jeff, your question wasn't stupid as I was wondering the same thing. |

alittle insight to on those frames. I had to notch the back board were the clips are to make them fit easier, so the glass wouldn't shatter when you tried to re-assemble them |

I recently purchased a couple of the Target frames (in brown) and love them. There was an earlier thread on these a couple of months back and I tried them and it is impressive but they probably only work on SGC slabs as PSA/GAI (not sure on BVG) are going to be too small for the individual frames. |

Very nice frames, but if you want the colors to last you should replace the stock glass for UV. I think it was about $20 for an 11 x 16 sheet at AC Moore last year. |
