Default Ot- postal shipping question

I had sold a item on Ebay, which held several pieces.
It was packed in a 14x14x12 box.
So, i used UPS store. It weighed a bit over 14lbs.
and had a track number.
All fine with that part.
QUESTION: Does the USPS ship items like this? Or is there a weight limit?

I believe USPS has a 70 lb. Weight limit. You might get hit with a dimensional balloon charge with those dimensions, depending on where it’s going and how you’re shipping it. Might not, but they’ve gotten sneakier with that the last couple updates.

It was 26$ from Ga to Nc
With tracking and 300$ value
In the 18lb group it says
Just wonder if it cheaper at USPS?
Now I know they can do it- Thanks DB
I think I got a good price point on further boxes

If you go to USPS dot Com you can put in the info and it will give you the exact price and options. You could have done the same on eBay since you sold it on there and got a decent USPS discount. I just saved a little over $4 on a medium flat rate box.

If you ship items often, I highly recommend you sign up for a Pirateship.com account and purchase your shipping labels through them. I have saved a ton of money through that shipping service. I put in your box dimensions and weight in their rate calculator, and they returned the following rate quotes:

Using USPS Ground Advantage (includes free tracking & $100 insurance)
$13.79 (regular USPS Retail counter price - $19.60)

Using UPS Ground (includes free tracking & $100 insurance)
$14.18 (regular UPS retail price - $26.51)

Thanks guys for all the info.
I should note- i have never done shipping labels before, nor really have plans to do so.
I rarely sell stuff, but when i do, its small priorty rate boxes (for cards) thru USPS.
In this case, these were really big boxes, which i never done before.
