Default Psa 7 = sgc 9?

Now that the auction is over I can finally talk about this to someone other than my wife (she can only feign interest so long).

Goodwin had an e98 Orange Bridwell graded SGC 9. They stated that it was a BSF card. The card did not have a BSF label, so we know that it was re graded. From what I understand only HA did the original auctions, so I went there to see what it sold for before. There wasn't a 9 in their past auctions. There were three PSA 7 and two SGC 8. The only one that is not listed as being able to make an offer to the original buyer is one of the PSA 7 cards. So it leaves me to believe that the PSA 7 is now in an SGC 9 holder.

It got me wondering:
1) Is it possible PSA was harsher on some of these cards because they had so many nice examples at one time that they started seeing slight imperfections as larger compared to the rest of the hoard?

2)Also as much as I hear about TPG (specifically PSA) showing preference to large dealers, wouldn't they have graded this higher especially since they, so far, have only had 7s.

3)Since both companies did the Black Swamp Find collection would/should they keep the "BSF" label if you crossover?

4) Will the fact that it is an easily traced card (if it keeps the BSF moniker) showing a 2 grade bump affect the price? I think the min bid was too high based off recent previous common player SGC 9 sales of BSF cards. Yet will it still bring the $1500 - $2500 price range the other SGC 9 commons are bringing?

I would assume they have to down ground some of the 10's to 9's. There were a lot of 9's that could've easily been 10's. I saw one of the PSA 9 Cobb's went to a SGC 98 that's now in Heritage.

What makes you think that the SGC 98 use to reside in a PSA 9 slab? HA is still releasing cards from the find. I thought the SGC 98 is a first time released card from the find. All the previous PSA 9 Cobbs still show they can be bought from the original buyers.

Yes, there were a lot of cards in the Black Swamp find; many more than most people realize.

The fact that they are still releasing them into the market is crazy to me. I have to imagine that the prices paid for the first bunch will just continue to lose value, Heritage knew that so they were smart by breaking them up over the last year.

No, they have been mixing it up. I think they knew their customers used both services and it stopped maxing out either pop report. It is better for them to say on a SGC 9 "Pop 1 on SGC report" while also selling a PSA 9 as "Pop 1 on PSA report".
