Default New to the forum...

I just wanted to take to some time and introduce myself to the forum. My name is Tony and I'm 34 years old.I've been collecting cards and memorbilia for almost 25 years. I have a beautiful lil 2yr old named Savannah who is the love of my life. I just recently got into collecting vintage cards namely the T206 set. I hope to someday pass her down a nice collection of tobacco cards and keep it the family for generations to come. Thanks all of you for the amount of information you taught me already it truly is appreciated.

Tony:

Like you, I'm a FNG here too, and we are pretty similar! I'm also 34 and have a five year old son, Ewan, who is just starting to show an interest in collecting baseball cards. I like the old stuff, he likes Chase Utley, his favorite player!

Right now I am focusing on the T205 set, but I pick up any old tobacco card I can. There are a few cards that I have all ways wanted. I have a few so far (T206 Mathewson with black cap [I like the looks better than the white cap PERSONALLY], a T206 red background Ty Cobb, and a T206 Lajoie.)

Forgive this next thing, but my son is next to me and wants me to post this smile face for no reason .

It's nice to meet a fellow collector around my age who I can share our passion with! God bless us; we are in for a journey!

Default Welcome Aboard!

Hey, Tony, I am also 34 and have the T206 bug. I rarely post on the forum, but I am a sponge to all of the people who have so much knowledge to contribute. I also have been nabbing up SGC graded T206s and have loved every minute of it. This site is a great motivator to keep plugging along. Best of luck in your quest!

Sincerely,

Andy

Tony,

There is so much good information that is provided on this board. There are many good threads started on the topic of T206 cards. I highly recommend that you keep an eye out for Ted Zan's posts on the T206 cards. Those are some of the more interesting posts on that set.

Welcome to the board and happy collecting!

welcome to the board!
always great to have one who seeks to tame the Monster.
Do remember the dictum/aphorism:
The Monster wants you to quit. Don't listen to it.

best,
barry

Hey Tony

I am also a new guy here, been here about a week spilling my dribble onto the boards. My name, as you can see is Jim (although there are a bunch of Jims here)

I am interested in classic cards, baseball and hockey. Hopefully when my employment situation changes, i can get back into a hobby i have been doing off and on for 35 years.

I have lost my collection 3 times.

I am 40, no kids yet...

I wandered into this forum looking for information about counterfeit cards and when i was here, noticed the guys seem very educated (or at least pretend to be) so i thought this was a good place to learnbefore i waste my money.

Anyways, welcome aboard and i hope you enjoy the board as much as i have in the short time i have been here.
