The Spalding and Wilkins Manufacturing Co. in Hasting, Mi.was one of the largest baseball factorys in the country during the late 1800's and early 1900's. What I would like to find out is if they made baseball at this company. I have the PBS DVD baseball film set by Ken Burns that shows the inside of one of Spaldings factories and they are making baseballs on a Baseball Stitching Clamp Saddles. I stopped at an antique shop in Hastings,Mi. this summer and purchased one of these old Clamp Saddles and was wondering if it could have came from Spalding and Wilkins Manufacturing Co. Thanks for any info! D. |
