I have to admit that I am guilty of buying cards for my collection for no apparent reason. I think my focus today is buying cards that I think are neat....and obscure. What is your focus? Show a card if you want to.... |

Leon, from what I can tell your focus is buying every card you can until there is no money left in your bank account. That is a worthy focus, one of which I have practiced for years. |

lately i've been getting really interested in buying cards that have real photos on them. like the m101-x sets and old judges. i just think there is something more interesting in seeing the actual legend on the front of the card instead of a rendition. love the lajoie m101-4. |

on solid mid-grade pw HOFers. Also working on E93, E98 and W575-2 sets. Collect postcards as well but seem to have picked up a lot of company in that endeavor lately. |

I am in full blown addict mode. I have sold off 90% of my odds and ends collection to fund a VG-VGEX T206 HOFer and notable players with the different T206 backs. This got started late in the spring when I bought an SGC 40 Lenox Johnson from the cardtarget shut down. I sold off nearly all of my T cards in college to pay the cost of living (beer and girls, and wasted the rest), and managed to stayed away for a few years after, because I know I have a problem, and not the kind of money to back it up. Here is where I stand: |

I've been collecting non-sports (something I thought I'd never do).....British pre-war non-sports. Like the old tobacco albums that they put out. Only buying complete sets. Its enjoyable and much cheaper than today's pre-war baseball card prices. |

I have been going after cards, buttons or photos of Kansans or players who played in Kansas. Like Ali, I'm looking for more real photo or b/w renditions. I've only been doing this for about 6 months and am still researching what is actually out there. |

John -- if you really want such a card, I suspect one will be offered in a few hours in a new ebay listing. Overprint? Underprint? What's the difference? |

I saw that underprint on ebay and obviously I'd rather have that one but theres no way I could afford that card. My $1500 offer still stands for the overprint though. |

I am only a couple cards away from completing my tobacco Cubs effort, needing only the T206 Brown Cubs shirt and Tinker Bat Off to complete the team sets in T200, T201, T205, T206, T207 |

I've been collecting currently used bats, which is much more dangerous. Four concussions last year alone. Also, Obaks (the end of the 1910 set is in sight now that the Miller has been slain), e90-1s, T207s, D311s, and those last few T206s. |

Well, I meant in the whole market. I had been looking for all of Brown's cards in the T206 and started noticing that what used to sell as a 6 was now a 7, what once was the price of a 4 is now a 5 and so on. Now's the time to strike if you can find one. Maybe there are some Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac shareholders on the board that will sell you one cheap. |

For me, it's the earliest possible card of each BB HOF'er, including Team Cards (pre-war only), Minor League Cards, Managers, Pioneers, Umpires, Broadcasters, Journalists, Negro Leaguers & Executives. Has gotten to be a pretty expensive endeavor so usually lower-grade is my only option. |
