I am a former lawyer, so I thought I would give you my thoughts. It sounds like if you don't have the right guy, the Gilliam family now would have a lot more ammo to sue you for posting their personal information with no due process than you would have for suing Billy. Saying vulgar things about people is cruel, but as long as it didn't cause you substantial monetary harm that you can prove, or threaten you, unfortunately that speech is not illegal. Courts in most jurisdictions take a decidedly unfavorable stance towards IIED claims. It is felt that they are generally frivolous claims for non-quantifiable harm, and often are appended to other more substantive claims merely as an afterthought. Meeting the element of conduct that is so outrageous as to be beyond the bounds of civilized society is extremely difficult, and consequently most claims fail.

McCormick, why do we HAVE to put this behind us, just because you want us to? The stuff this Billy guy said was pretty close to what is quoted above, did you actually see what he wrote? Whoever said this 25 year old was a kid was rediculous, The guy has been an adult for a long time and should know better. As the father of a daughter, I don't know if I would be as forgiving as Leon is being.

I don't post here often but I lurk here every day. This punk did not just come here once and then go away. He Hijacked somebodys account and said horrible disgusting things about a child. He should be taught a lesson! He's 25 years old! He's not a kid anymore and he needs to learn that threre are real repercussions to the type of behavior he displayed here! If it were my daughter he spoke of, I'd run a white hot icepick up his pee pee hole and then get mad. Not only is he an internet troll but, a very disturbed individual. You can NEVER be to careful when children are brought into the mix. I feel that an admission of guilt and a solemn promise in writing to never come to this board again is a good start followed by a public letter of apology and a promise to seek counseling. Proof of counseling should be provided. Anything less and I have an icepick you can borrow.


Mr Mcormick has forgotten that he can control his mouse and read only threads pertaining to cards.

I am not sure where you guys see the connection? The rapper threatened to track down the daughter and even offered a cash reward for information. Saying you had sex with someone is inappropriate but Leon will find when he calls the Reno police department that without an explicit threat like made in the article no investigation will even be launched. It's very unfortunate that this Billy Gilliam, who now appears to be posting under various names, has hijacked the board to such a degree that very little else has been discussed here lately. It makes me think that it is time for Leon to consider updating the software, or perhaps even making it difficult for a stranger to post here so freely (similar to that other board that is more secretive than the Stone Cutters).

The funniest part is how Gilliam thought that he could convince the board that "Joe" and "McCormick" were just two lurkers who have never posted on the board -- until now when they came out in support of not turning in a hopeful-pedophile to authorities. The 'former lawyer' bit was funny as well as the Wiki cut and paster. But the reverse psychology angle, that Billy was laughing instead of shaking in his boots -- good stuff too. Billy reminds me of one of those WWF wrestlers from the early 70s who, after hitting the good guy over the head with a chair when his back was turned would then be on his knees begging for forgiveness when the good guy turned around and slowly advanced towards the attack. Of course as soon as the good guy hesitated for a second the bad guy threw salt in his eyes.
