The majority of Drum backs that I have seen are really badly trimmed (for other T206s trimming seems to be the rare exception). Anyone know why all the trimmed Drums? |

I think all the drums trimmed along the top are from one collection. I believe they were sold as one lot in an auction last year and have since been parcelled out. Not positive though. |

A large group (about 30) sold in a Hunt auction last year. They'd all been trimmed across the top by a previous owner in order to fit better in the old style plastic sheets that collectors used to keep their cards in (and some still do). A simpler time. I miss that. |

if you are refering to all of the drums on the market now that are trimmed along the top edge, they all were auctioned in Hunt last year. i heard from a fellow collector, that they were most likely cut down to fit into some sort of sleeve or page. |

I can completely understand those who trimmed the cards way back when in order to fit them for display. But it really makes no sense to trim them in order to fit plastic pages designed to protect cards. |

They all were from one find but the 30 or so that went in the first Hunt auction were the best of the bunch. I am pretty sure the find was closer to 50 cards. There was another Hunt auction right after the one that had 30 in it with several T206s that had alot of paper loss and also several T205s. |

What amazes me is that for being so severly trimmed they still fetch such high prices. I got this one some time ago (I think it came from Hal's liquidation) for a very decent price. |
