I picked this up, but the seller neglected to mention that the back had been glued (or adhered to in some way) cardboard or paper. Would it be possible for an amateur like myself to restore the back to it's original state or would the risk outweigh the reward? |

The card is trimmed and creased. Its value is in the autograph. I don't see any upside to trying to improve the appearance of the back. |

I agree. Being that it's trimmed, and that it's already "authenticated", I'd leave as is. You're probably not going to gain much by trying to fix the back. |

I'm not financially motivated in restoring the card. I don't plan to get rid of it anytime soon, I just think it would look a lot nicer if the original Goudey back showed. I also don't want to ruin it in the process. |

The back is skinned so even if you do remove the glue you wont be getting the original back of the card. |

"Skinned" meaning the back layer of the card has been peeled off? If so, that stinks. I can't tell from looking at it through the case, but if that's the case I'm pretty disappointed. I considered that, but since it's so "even" on the back I assumed it was glued to paper or something. |
