From one of the lots in REAs auction:
"Three Authentic: Roger Bresnahan (port.), Walter Johnson (port.), and Christy Mathewson (white cap). These three "Authentic" encapsulated cards are not altered or trimmed, but have clearly been period handcut from sheets and are great-looking cards."
