I recently watched an old episode of "Sanford and Son" in which Fred told his son that he was named after Lamont Lomax, a pitcher for the Homestead Grays in the 1930's who once pitched three straight shutouts. I'm guessing he is fictional but am wondering if any of you have heard of him and if there are any cards of him. |

Fictional...however there was a "Lomax", first name unknown who played one game for the Newark Eagles in 1942. |

Thanks Dan. I guess if he played just one game he could not have thrown three straight shutouts : ) |

There was a Lomax Davis who played in the Negro Leagues in the 1940's, and also in Puerto Rico and the U.S. minor leagues. He is in the 1949-50 Toleteros set. |
