Have reprints or counterfeits from this set ever surfaced? What should you look for? |

I agree with Steve. That one looks bad. The quality of the lithography is poor too. |

the motherload - new staples - uniform soiling on the back - outside edge is handcut not machine cut as issued - not fade but lack of clarity...... |

Yes, there are counterfeits out there of these fans. Some older signs are counterfeited also. |

Stick going through the fan itself at the bottom is another dead giveaway that it is fake. |

I think this same fan was outed and discussed only a few months back. The worms keep crawling to the surface. |

Antique staples are dark brown with rust, and have often stained the surrounding area. It would be hard to fake antique staples. Though, obviously, it's possible for a real one to have the stick restapled on. Also, as noted, the real ones don't have that odd notch on the bottom for the stick, the stick is completely on the back. |

Fake as fake can be (not to mention all the obvious red flags). The guy didn't even get the handle stick right. |

Anyone seen any of the fakes in person? Do they have the same back as that shown on Joe's post? |
