There are some good ones out there; I got an email via our very own BST from a person who said they would like to buy the lot of T206s I listed. They went on to explain that they want them to sell via ebay, and like to make at least 60-80% margin or return. The classic line in the email was and I quote…

“I like to get things cheaper than normal and make really good money on them, let me know what you think?”

you should have said, "Yes, that sounds great - a very good buiness plan. Best of luck finding product. You could also try developing and then selling licensed software, burning it to what is called a CD-ROM, and then selling that for 98% margin. Either way, it sounds like you are well on your way!"

holy smokes....it's like these people have no internal dialogue, and immediately share their thoughts without censoring with respect to their audience...it's like a burglar who phones ahead to ask you to leave the front door open while you're at work!

Did you ask this person where you could sign up for the 60-80 percent margin program?.....Personally I like to make a million percent...but usually I am stuck at about 15%-25%......I think the most disturbing thing about the whole deal is this person is a board member.....YIKES...you would think they would read a little bit and know better.....oh well....just proves my point of me not knowing the collective board members, or their thinking, very well....

Undoubtedly, the guy is a dealer. I had one naive experience where i went to a show and tried to sell some of my graded cards to dealers. Amazing. Some were more subtle than others. One fool just said straight up "i'll buy them at 50% off SMR listed prices." At least the man was straight and honest with me. Not like some other idiots who tried to pick at the flaws of the graded card to bring the price down ("oohhh, PSA ("whoever they are", he muttered under his seemingly bad breathe) missed this xxinsert imaginary defectxx, i think the card is worth only xxinsert foolish lowball offer only an imbecile would takexx"). I was green back then, so i didnt know that selling graded cards to dealers at a show is a -5 on the scale of 1 to 10 of stupidity.

At least he's upfront, so you can simply laugh it off. There are some really shady people in this hobby...and they're as slick as a newborn infant ready to take a bath.

Yeah this guy and I are exact opposites, he likes to get things cheap.

I on the other hand like to buy things at 10x their value and then sell them for a loss.

Maybe that’s your way to 80% Leon sell cards to me at inflated prices then buy them back for less?

Recently, another of the marching morons emailed me during an ebay auction criticizing the high (under $30) prices on the cards I was selling and offering to buy them for 50% of my starting price over time at the rate of a card a month. Riiigghhhttt....
