According to T206museum.com these are the approximate multipliers for the follwing rare backs...yes, I know you can't necessarily go by these numbers at all....am curious though with the numbers the site has what any collector of the following backs have noticed more recently...prices up? down? |

Interesting...based on that...a typical common Drum 350 in a PSA 1 or SGC 10 you'd have no problem in saying the average price of a sale for such would be $1,500? |

PSA 1 common to me is $15, I usually hold out for bargains...I have never paid more than $20 for a PSA 1 common with a common back. $25 is PSA 2 territory. |

About a month ago I picked up a SGC 40 Uzit Crawford batting for a little under $2000. I think it was a fair price as I have not seen many Uzit cards in this condition let alone a Hofer.CN |

Lee....is it because you feel Broadleaf 460's are that much more rare to pop up or because you just like the design of the back better? I haven't seen where brown lenox's are any more common. |

Out of all the backs its speculated that the two rarest are the Southern League Old Mill factory 649 overprints(even rarer then the controversial Ty Cobb "King of the smoking world" back). Has anyone here on the board owned one, or atleast seen one? I've never seen a value multiplier listed for them anywhere, so obviously these rarely come to auction. Any estimates what there value is, can anyone post a scan, or any info on previous sales? |

When it comes to the rare backs...the Lenox's and Old Mill's with the brown lettering, I know there is a big debate with Lenox's being brown or faded black..is there the same debate with the Southern Old Mill's or are they more easily recogonized as a brown? If anybody has a brown Lenox or brown southern old mill I'd love to see them posted. With SGC and PSA as well now putting the back label on the front of the card do either actully note on the card's label "Brown Lenox" or just "Lenox"? |

there was a brown lenox backk on ebay this past year and head to head photos of the black vs brown backs were displayed and this topic debated. I DO believe the brown lenox back is brown...and not faded black but would pay more for a bl 460...personally. |

Be very cautious and give it a good inspection...black can be changed into any shade of brown, it's been done. Black, on the other hand, is a secure color. |

I too am looking for a BL 460 to buy. I almost bought the back damaged one on eBay last year for over a grand. This price was a bit steep for the terrible condition, but I have not seen one for sale since (approx. 6 months). Last year there may have been one in an auction house in the last 6 months of 2006, but I did not catch it. I know last year (I think), Huggins and Scott sold a group of BL 460, 350, and a red hindu that now resides on cardtarget.com |

I guess what would worry me is even going on Brian's advice that there are definately browns, if PSA doesn't label a card as such I wonder how many faded blacks are sold as browns? |

yes would be very interested to see the scan of your brown lenox. I'm really hardly a true rare back collector....money plays a part. I am in the middle of a transaction from a board member for my first lenox back..but not a brown. |

Maybe you just have to hold one to notice the differance..or maybe my eyes are just that bad. Here is a scan of the card on the way from Tom B to me. To me a "faded" black doesn't look much differant..maybe one of you guys with 20/20 vision will think differant. |
