The back has the pinkish tinge like Ted said, so I would say fake. |

Actually, i think the pinkish tinge is bleed-through from the front of the card, suggesting it might be real. Either way, these Goudey's are often reproduced, and as Ted said, it's often real hard to know for sure from a computer phot. For someone starting off in collecting, I might suggest sticking with surer cards and better scans. |

If the seller will guarantee it's real, and you can verify he's good to his word, then go for it. If he won't then I would pass if I were you. Actually I won't usually buy anything unless I have a guarantee of authenticity....best regards |

I check this auction and it seems like everyone is happy with what they got. Although he could have bought it and found out its a reprint, then tried to sell it. He could take better pics, plenty of glare. |

To me, the reddish tint on the reverse also looks to be bleed through - which suggests that the card is authentic. If the seller confirms via email that he will accept a return if the card is not authentic, I would take a chance, but only if you are able to pay with a credit card via paypal. If the card ends up being fake and the seller refuses to accept a return despite the promise/guarantee, then dispute the charge with your credit card company. |

Looks maybe handcut all round. Right side is non-existant, Left flares out, bottom seems to tail up...... |

These cards typically have pretty thin borders - I dont know that I agree that this one is trimmed. However, while your asking for guarantees, make sure he will guarantee its unaltered/untrimmed as well. |

but take a look a the scan of the front of the card, and the amount of border top left edge, and then over to the right edge......when the right border tends to be real skinny, you usually at least have a good solid fat white border on the left all the way up. This one is miniscule on the right, thin on the upper left - and flares out as it goes down.. |

Listen to JK. Last week I bought a few Cracker Jacks from a seller that I had bought something from on ebay. I got the card from the ebay sale and it was fake. I returned it and he reluctantly refunded me. On the 2 Cracker Jacks from him, that were fake as 3 dollar bills, I sent them back to him the day after I got them. I sent them USPS and sig confirmation. He refused the package and said "how do I know you didn't switch the cards?". He never opened the freakin' package I sent back AND had scans of the two fakes BEFORE he sent them to me. So now I am out $350 from some yahoo in Michigan..Had I done paypal with a credit card I wouldn't be out any money......at least I got to nail the guy with a negative as he had already given me positive feedback on the previous transaction..... |
