Is it just me or are these cards "over-rated" and/or "over-priced". |

Well, they are not as colorful as the t205s and t206s. But they look fantastic together, such as on an uncut sheet, or simply grouped close to each other. |

the 2005 SCD checklist and pricing was mismatched and therefor incorrect, many of the commons were listed with prices for the scarce cards and vice versa. in general the set is seeing quite a bit of popularity and the scarce cards are quite sought after. |

$20 for a "common" common in g/vg sounds about right. Finding anything above ex/mt in the set is not easy though. |

This set is filled with rarities and tough cards (well beyond Lewis and Lowdermilk) and is a real challenge to complete. The last time a full set was offered at auction was at Sothebys about 2 years ago and the buyer did very well breaking it up. When tough ones show up on eBay, they are unbelievably competitive. The REA lot, while short of a full set, was mixed condition and did contain many of the tougher cards. |

There are not only the usual suspects, like Lewis, Loudermilk, Ward Miller, and the rest but now you have to contend with the Red Cycle back buyers who pay increased amounts for these backs. Throw in HOFers like Speaker, Hooper, Johnson, etc. and there are still the scarce "commons" like George, Kling, Ellis et al. Truly a tough, tough set. I've put together 2 from scratch so I know. |

Wallace Smith is listed in my SCD as $40 $70 $200. Are you looking at the 2005 catalog? If so, see comments a few posts up. |

Personally, I'm waiting until September (4 more months) for the 2007 Standard Catalog to come out. The 2006 catalog has a messed-up index, and since the new one will be out 4 months from now, the 2006 edition has too short a shelf life at this point. Let's just hope the 2007 edition doesn't follow in the footsteps of the 2005 and 2006 editions regarding the errors. |
