I am thinking of trying to collect a card of each of the Black Sox players along with Collins, Gleason, and Comiskey. I know we have some White/Black Sox fans on the board. Has anyone else put this together? I have Jackson and Gandil done so far. Also, I know of the T207 Buck Weaver but are there more cards of him out there? Please feel free to post any cards you may have of these players. |

I have some examples on my site that'll give you an idea of what's out there. A number of board members have much nicer sets than i do. Also you can find a "fairly" comprehensive list on 1919blacksox.com, although there are some errors - jackson colgan doesn't exist for example. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. |

Dont forget Rothsteins go-between to the players... T218 Abe Attell. They're affordable in any condition. |

Thanks for all the great information! It seems like McMullin will be the "toughie" to get. I am pretty new to all of this so I appreciate the help. I like the idea of expanding the collection to include all the other parties involved (Attell, Burns, etc.). It should be a fun little group to complete. |

Do people still think that Maharg character was Peaches Graham? |

Weaver is also in the D310, E100, and E221 set. I've only ever seen one of the E221s of the San Fran team but it is a beautiful card and out does his other Bishop, E100, by a mile even though it is a team card. |

Nice site Bruce. I have always loved the CJ cards of Jackson and Cicotte. I can't afford the Jackson but I will hunt down a Cicotte one day. |

I forgot about Attell, and I should not have, I have him on 3 boxing cards, the old T, a small E card, and a Leaf or some such... |

Beautiful item Richard. I think a lot of baseball fans forget how damaging this scandal was for baseball. You are right - it is still felt to this day. I believe the steroid mess will affect baseball in a similar, lasting way. The difference is the steroid players have the argument that they were doing it to "help" the game. I don't believe this but it has a better ring to it than fixing games. |
