I can think of bunch of other vintage cards I'd rather have this one. I don't care if he is one of the all-time greats |

I don't care how dominant Clemens has been in his career- that $2k would've bought some lovely vintage cards of players who reputations HAVE withstood the passage of time! |

95% of the U.S. population would think we are all crazy for spending what some of us spend on old baseball card(s)... rather than doing something more useful with the money. |

I agree that I would never spend that kind of money that card, but what do you mean about players reputations that have withstood the passage of times. Whats that got to do with Clemens? |

how the passage of time will hurt Clemen's reputation--he's hands down one of the greatest pitchers ever (all era's) and arguably the best post-war pitcher (with props to Spahn and Gibson). Still wouldn't pay anything near the amount paid however--ridiculous!! |

But wow. 2k? People take this grading stuff pretty seriously, I guess. |

That is pretty crazy.....if I wanted that card I for sure wouldn't go for the PSA 10. Just look at this, you can get a PSA 9 for 1/4th the price. |

The card was issued only in boxed set form. It uses modern printing technology. |

Hey, if that's what someone wants to collect, more power to 'em. We're all ridiculous to spend major $$ on pieces of cardboard. |

The most ridiculous thing is how much more that 10 went for to what you can get an 8 or 9 at. |

PSA 9s go for about $500--10s of this vintage can go for 3-5 times 9s. If I was asked where would this card go in psa 10 it would be almost exactly where it did. |

I didn't pay nearly that much for them. I have searched high and low for people other than Jay saying they were reproduceed in quantity, and have found ZILCH. They are both very nice cards, and I didn't mind paying over 100 dollars a piece for them.. |

I don't know if the quantities reproduced were huge, but it was significant. It wasn't unusual at shows to have someone show up with a 50 or more Puckett and Clemens cards. It got to the point where many dealers would not touch the cards unless they you had the complete set with box. |
