Hey Folks,
I want to make a small exception for a brand new board participant. I think it's within my right as moderator dude to actually do something nice every once in a while. We have a new board participant by the name of "Mike Campbell". If you are reading this "HI Mike". I know the BST pages get a ton of exposure and the main forum gets about 5 tons. Mike is a Jimmy Fox collector and here are his needs....he can be reached at:

I just recently was told about this forum. I have been collecting pre war (Mostly Foxx) items (Not just cards) for 15 years. I have always avoided forums, as such, because there are too many pretenders, and con men in them.

This one appears to be different however. I look forward to many years of banter and hunting.

No probs here. It's always good to add honest collectors to our group. For just the reasons you stated we are always a little cautious about new folks. We know scammers read this board to get info and do our best to "out" them. This board has had a fairly large impact on the hobby in lot's of respects. Just ask Mr. Lemke ( Hi Bob ) how many changes we have been responsible for in his SCD Big Book. Getting back to the topic I think I do have a Jimmy Foxx Uncle Jacks card that has a purple background. Let's see if anyone else comes up with one then maybe we can talk. Uncle Jacks aren't quite as cheap as they used to be....as with everything I guess......once again glad to have you aboard......regards.....leon

Not to derail the thread, but Michael - I've been trying to locate a nice 8x10 of Double X in a Cubs uniform, circa 1942-44, but not having any luck. Any idea where I might be able to locate one?

Great photo. Look at the size of his hands. And to think he did it all without cheating.

I have about 40 original photos of Foxx, including wire photos. Several are not wire, but originals. Also a letter he wrote. I also have a sterling silver award that he was given by a national organization. On and on....I am burdened with the "Collector" disease. But isn't it fun?

I'm always in the market for originals or wire photos. Please let me know. I love the casual shots like the one you've shown here.

Yes I have three where he is in a Cub's uniform. There is one i can't locate. Which really bothers me, because normally I am very organized. It will turn up. It shows Jimmie in the dugout with Manager Charlie Grimm. The other two show Jimmie putting on his first cubs uni. One is with his son Jimmie Jr. beaming proudly as dad slips on his new cubs uniform. very cool. All have the original tagline attached on the back. If I can figure out how to show them on here I will. They are not for sale however. Sorry. But I am happy to share them with you.

Jimmie and Harmon Killebrew. Both had great smiles. Both great guys also. Being from Minnesota, I had the pleasure of seeing Harmon hit many homeruns. But that big grin on Jimmie was great.
