I just noticed that Scott Gaynor has a Demmitt going up on E-Bay this week and was just wondering which of the 2 cards are rarer and the approximate number of each one. |

Both cards are pretty tough, I myself have found the O’Hara card to be a little tougher or coming up less frequently compared to the Demmitt. Most of the Demmitt & O’Hara’s that surface for sale are on the rougher side of the condition scale, for obvious reasons. Finding them crease and or stain free can be a tough one. |

Both are about the same in toughness, O'Hara draws a tad more premium. Tough T206's. The toughest behind the Doyle, Wagner, Plank, Magie. |

I agree that they are about equal in toughness. Most here probably know how difficult they are to find in nice condition because they only came in Polar Bear packs of scrap tobacco and thus were much more prone to staining and and creases than their T206 counterparts. I will take a shot in the dark here and guess that if there are approximately 60 Wagners and Planks, there are probably 300-400 Demmitts and O'Haras. Anyone else want to venture a guess? |

I just chuckled thinking that 300-400 cards is rarity when you look at the t207 pop report in the VCBC article about t207s. |

I would guess there are about 250-300 of each of the Demmit & O’Hara give or take a few. I would say you’re about dead on Jim. As far as the Wagner I would say closer to 80-100 of those out there, Magie around 150 or so. Plank and Doyle being the hardest to obtain as far as availability. Price is whole other thing all together. |

I was surprised that the Demmitt GAI 2.5 went for over $1900. I thought it might sell for between $1000 and $1300. |

I always understood these two shortprint cards, along with the likes of Elberfield's Washington portrait or the rarer versions of Lundgren and Browne to be sort of early "Traded" cards. That is, the reason for their shortprinting being that the players changed teams during the T206 three year run, and were released in later or earlier serieses with different teams. |

I won a complete set of T206's minus the big four which I am going to break up and sell off. The condition is mostly VG to VG/EX. The Demmitt is graded a GAI 3, I have not gotten the set in but willing to take any requests from the board on purchasing any cards. |
