Hopefully this is still on topic enough: I recently bought a set of the Original All-Stars From the Game of the Century. Its a 40 card set shwoing the players from the first all-star game back in 1933. Mine is numbered 7,385 out of 10,000 (whoopee!), it was printed in 1983 by Big League Collectibles. Its a fun and interesting set because the cards to look vintage - they are photos that seem to be touched up or colored in. As a collector of the 33/34 Goudeys and World Wide Gum sets, its cool to see the same players in this set, even if it was printed 50 years later. I've attached the photo below. What I would like to know is: are these cards a reprint of another set? are the photos from other cards? are these the first time these photos are represented in cards? any info would help. |
