This card is, ironically, not a good example for why you need card grading. Card grading is necessary to identify imperfections that are not obvious from an internet scan on ebay. The staining and trimming of the top border are all easily perceptible. You do not have to be a professional card grader to know the seller's statement that this card "appears to be in around NMT+ to NMMT condition" is wholly inaccurate. |

but you do have to have some knowledge of cards to tell that what the seller is saying is inaccurate. I've seen major auction houses describe cards as near mint with trimming or pinholes. My point is that a newer collector or a less sophisticated one would fall for this kind of description and buy a vg (assuming not trimmed) card for nm prices. |

What's the board's opinion on the authenticity of these Orbits this seller has listed? |

While the possibility always exists that somebody will be mislead about the condition of this card, that is life. There are no guarantees that anything you buy; a used car, a baseball card, an antique rocking chair, a rare coin or a house is not mis-represented by the seller. Crooks abound, Caveat emptor. If you are not willing to put some effort into validating what you buy, you shouldn't be spending big bucks. |

trust any eBay seller who can't spell or write correctly in their descriptions. Call me a grammatical elitist, but it shows a real lack of professionalism if a person can't even use (or take the time to use) the spell-check to spell "definitely" correctly. |

Adam, your title should be changed to: "see, now this is why you do need PSA card grading" |
