How hard are these cards to collect? The Rogers Hornsby on eBay and the Ty Cobb in the Mastronet Classic Collector auction are the first ones I have seen. |

I have watched them since I got back into collecting about 8 years ago. They have been very scarce in that time frame. They have a little less interest than some other sets as they are a multi-sport set, are extremely difficult if not impossible to complete (I've never heard of a complete baseball or full set), and are a little newer than some on this board collect. They do have some unique poses and great looking, imo. They are on very thin stock too...I picked up a few Cobbs still in their glassine envelopes not too long ago from an estate of someone that worked at Rogers Peet (a clothing company).....regards |

IN RESPONSE TO THE POST ABOUT THE COMPLETE ALBUM WHICH SOLD FOR $6700 OR SOMETHING NEAR THERE , I SPOKE WITH THE SELLER FROM SPORTS CARDS PLUS AND HE TOLD ME THE CARDS WERE IN ABOUT EX AND WERE NEATLY GLUED INTO THE ALBUM. THE PRICE AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED IS A STEAL! GOOD LUCK FINDING THE ALBUM. I HAVE 13 OF THE CARDS FROM THE SET AND 17 TOTAL. GETTING THEM IS LIKE PULLING TEETH. IT'S A SET THAT DOESN'T GENERATE A LOT OF INTEREST OTHER THAN THE BASEBALL STARS. UNKNOWN UNTIL THE 80'S I THINK, THE CATLOGUE DOESN'T HAVE A COMPLETE LIST. THERE ARE SEVERAL UNKNOWNS.MOST ARE TRACK STARS. I HAVE THE COMPLETE LIST FROM THE PERSON WHO PURCHASED THE ALBUM. HE WAS KIND ENOUGH TO GIVE ME THE INFO. I WOULD BE SURPRISED IF ANYONE ELSE HAS PUT THIS SET TOGETHER.THERE WAS A COLLECTOR OUT OF MINNESOTA THAT HAD 27 I THINK .IF YOU WANT A CHALLENGE ,GO FOR IT. YOU MAY WANT TO TYPE CARD COLLECT THIS ONE. |

I found these two as part of a group of items (along with a 1957 World Series ticket and a Charles Lindbergh Rogers Peet card) in the 1980s for less than $15: |
