My impression of the auction was that it was a great success. The realizations seemed to reflect the current market, with the exception of one minor glitch the individual lot expiry went smoothly, and the auction was over for most lots before 12:30 EDT. Great job guys! |

I liked it because i was finally able to win something from them, and i got a good deal in the process. One of the lots i won went for less than half of what i almost paid for it at a ft washington show.I could be happier if i won everything i bid on for the opening bid[wishful thinking] but im still happy how it turned out |

The E253 Hornsby was stupidly high....it is about $100-$150 card...and went for the 3k (with juice)....wow...why don't my auctions or consigned items ever do that? Otherwise it looked like some really good deals were had. I didn't win anything...probably because I didn't bid on anything.....That's one thing about a "focused" type collection. You don't always find something you still need.....till next time... |

Nice card Hal,i was about to bid the final price on the card but in between the time i saw it was at 2600 something, and the time it took to bid, someone had bid the 2911 already. The next increment just seemed to high to me. |

I think the format for this auction really worked well. Most of the time I'm left in the dust in Mastro auctions, but this time I was lucky enough to win the St. Louis BBC Joseph Hall cabinet for what I thought was a great price. Granted, some little critter had its way with it at one time long ago, but I probably owe the little guy some thanks - I would never be able to afford one of these babies otherwise! |

In the photo department, I thought there were some good deals for normal collectors-- something I don't ordinarilly say with a MastroNet auction. |

I was skunked on all items I bid on. The prices realized seemed higher than Ebay or show prices but not as high as "normal Mastro" prices. I did like the ease of use and format on the internet auction. I think we will see more and more net based auctions as time goes on. I think 19th century only has the best internet auction set-up. |

i think the joseph hall cabinet was a steal at that price. if i were not going after some other cards in the auction i probably would have bid it up to at least twice what it went for. |

Adam--What do you think it is that makes the 19thcenturyonly auction better than this Mastro auction? I thought the procedure was basically the same except for the improved closing method that Mastro has added. Is it that Seth's auction has more bargains? |

I was the one banging with you (er...Julie) for the Joseph Hall. I actually punched in one more bump in the last few seconds of the fifteen minute O.T. but by the time my bid went in it was too late. I was figuring on having a mat made for it, which would cover up the damage, and then putting it in a vintage frame. With the quality of the image it can still be made very visually appealing! Nice pick up |

I thought their web site was more user friendly. Just seemed easier to use. |

Liked the smaller lots. I've been close before, but never able to win anything from Mastro. This time I picked up a Sporting Life composite PC and the 6 Fro Joy cards - was surprised (and happy) at the final price on them. |
