Interesting 19th Century Baseball

A recent pickup. It's cloth filled and is a hybrid type of ball with elements of lemon peel and belt ball construction. The size and weight of this baseball is typical of those used for townball. The ball is very soft also, which would have been perfect for soaking (hitting) the baserunner for the out!
