Does anyone know who is actually card 5 of the E126 set??? ![]() However, the only the E. Cox that played for the White Sox is Ernest Thompson Cox (E. T.). Now for the kicker, Ernest pitched in only one game for the White Sox in 1922 which was also his whole MLB career. E.T. Cox career link - http://www.baseball-reference.com/c/coxer01.shtml Now, there were two other Cox's that played for the White Sox around 1927. There was a Les Cox who played only in 1926 (Pitched in 2 Games) and George Cox who played only in 1928 (Pitched in 26 Games). Les Cox career link - http://www.baseball-reference.com/c/coxle01.shtml George Cox career link - http://www.baseball-reference.com/c/coxge01.shtml And finally, based on the Beckett web site, card 5 is listed as Dick Cox. Now he never played for the White Sox. For his career, he played for Brookyln (1925-1926, 228 Games in the Outfield). So who is actually on card #5? Whould they make a card of a player who has been out of MLB for almost 5 years and only pitched in one game??? Any thoughts? James Walker, Jr. |
