The difference ... of course ... is huge for us "rookie card" collectors, since anything from 1907 would most likely be considered his "rookie" issue. |

The postcard in question is absolutely from 1907. Within the last year I have seen several cards from this set on ebay that were postmarked 1907. |

Hopefully Mr. Lemke will see this and make the change in his next edition of the bible. |

What year were these cards printed? Lemke says the following. Are there any other candidates for the Cobb rookie? |

but I agree with the "new way of thinking" in that ALL of the cards you listed were printed in 1909, including the E102 set. |

Why would the E101 set be from 1909 and the E102 set be from 1908? |

Strip cards that have to be cut off a box do not qualify as "cards" to me. They aren't too much different then the magazine photos that one clown cuts out and sends to ASA for grading and then sells as "cards" on EBay. |

Hal...while I'm not a big fan of cards affixed to a box, I do consider them cards and much different than a pic cut out of a magazine. Orange Borders, Darbys, Wheaties and Post would be just a few examples. Food for thought, take care! |

I think that if the picture was meant to be cut out as a card (like Post Cereal cards of the early '60s), then it's a card;otherwise, it's a picture on a box. I personally don't care as much for the "cut your own card" cards - printed image is normally inferior to real cards - but I think you would have to consider them "rookie candidates". |
