There are three Old Judge listed on ebay by a seller **jode--ball**. They are a Ewing, an O'Rourke and a Behel. The seller asserts that the cards were trimmed from an 1887 ad sheet. This obviously cannot be the case as two of the cards are 1889 cards. Also, I have never seen a spotted tie on an ad sheet. The seller notes that the cards are of different thickness which seems to imply some rebacking. However, this isn't the major problem. A rebacked Behel would still be a great find. It appears to me that the cards may be counterfeits. They just don't look right to me. If anyone here chooses to bid I would suggest close inspection of the scans and a guarantee from the seller that the cards are original. |
