Did any of you take a look at the ebay auction for the Bill McGowan postcard that ended yesterday?

Did you look at he bid history? "kidcardiac" was willing to go even higher.

I believe he was the one who plunked down several thousand dollars for the Hartford Blue Stockings CDV with Tommy Bond and Candy Cummings that was on ebay a couple of years ago.

Anyone know who he is?

I thought that there was another (albeit scarce and obscure) "card" of McGowan out there from some regional.

This sure makes me feel good. I own the other known copy of this card. (For all I know, there are dozens more, but I haven't seen them). I think I paid $5 for McGowan and two other umpires.

There is supposed to be a Bill McGowan in the 1948 Washington SafeT set, but I don't know anyone who has seen even a single card from that set.

I know kidcardiac. He is good people. HOF collector with a nice collection of Negro League and Cuban material. Wants cards, but where there are no cards, original photographs. He's a cardiologist, hence "kidcardiac".

Very nice guy.
