Default M116 Question

Looking at some M116's to buy. They are all PSA graded 5-7MC. The issue I have with them is that there is writing in pencil on the bottom right of the cards. (How PSA didn't grade Authentic is beyond me). Someone wrote the abbreviated position of the player.

Do these still have a good value to them? One of them is Titus.

Are they MC or MK? MK means mark and that would apply for pencil writing. I have Addie Joss in PSA 3 and has light pencil marks I think they missed.

"Good value" clearly depends on what the price is. Personally, I don't like cards with qualifiers....I would rather have a nice-looking lower condition card. It's not because of the qualifier itself. It's because the qualifier usually indicates something that would be distracting for me, such as a miscut, print defect, mark, or bad centering. But some people like them because they are cheaper alternatives to unqualified cards. Also, a mark on the front of a card would bother me more than one on the back. But, again, a lot of this is personal preference.

I'm not really one to comment on if they're a good deal, depends a lot on why you want them. If you're looking to make or finish a set they could work, for me the lettering is distracting. Everybody's different, off-center side to side bothers me but top-bottom not at all. If you're buying to re-sell, I'd stay away from qualifiers, too many people don't like them.

So I guess it depends on the deal and why you want them. Good Luck either way!

That's funny about centering. Side-to-side also bothers me more than top to bottom. And for some cards, like E90-1 or E92, I don't mind if the bottom border is larger than the top border. There still needs to be somewhat of a top border...but it's okay if it is smaller than the bottom border...it looks "right" to me this way (like the attached). But if the borders were reversed, it would bother me to the point of not wanting the card.
