I have three questions about the Advisory Staff photos that were issued from the 1950s to the 1970s that I hope someone on the forum can answer.
1. A forum member sent me a Spalding Advisory Staff checklist long ago. (I can't remember who it was). The checklist includes
color photos of Tom Seaver and several other players. I'm a Seaver collector but I've never even seen the Seaver or any other player from the set. But I think I've finally spotted a couple of others from the set. In this link are scans of a Ryan and Gibson that were just sold on ebay.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/387876844983 Are these "color Spalding Advisory Staff photos"? Do any of you have a scan of the Seaver?
2. It seems like the Advisory Staff photos from the 1970s are much tougher and more expensive than the earlier ones. Why is that?
3. How were the Advisory Staff photos distributed? Were they giveaways at sporting goods stores?
Thanks for your help.
