I bought a card in REA last night; a card I've admired for decades, but never took the opportunity to own - N43 Ewing. VCP research indicated that this issue (particularly the baseball players) has been immune to the run up in prices over the past 15 years. N43s have actually gotten less expensive since about 2007 when they seemed to be at their heyday.
Lack of availability, missing super popular subjects (no Anson or Kelly), and size contribute to their smaller collector audience, I would think. Anyway, I'm happy to pick one up - it's been a while since I've had any (bought a REA raw group about ten years back). Don't know how long I'll be hanging on to this, but I will explore more. What are your experiences collecting N43s? I'd love to hear any info and will be on the lookout for a group if available. Show me the N43s in your collection! I think the N43 Ewing is one of the nicest cards ever produced. I have one in my collection, though it is not as nice as yours.

Great point, John, and I think you will see some nice ROI on that PSA 6!
I used to own two Ewings, and just have this one remaining. Love the card - would have to imagine they will see some strong appreciation at some point soon! |

Love 'em!
Looks like Jimmy Ryan went to the prom in his baseball uni. I see a full set available on Ebay - a bit out of my range. I'ma heading down to The Philly Show this weekend; perhaps there will be one or two there. I was checking pops - they are not crazy low. It looks like 50-60 of any given card graded at some point between SGC and PSA. Don't see them around that often. |
