Scott,
I'm interested in the lot, but I want to be clear on why I'm interested as you missed the most interesting note. The letter from the bank in the lot is signed by Maj. Edward Sledge Jr, brother of Eugene Sledge who served a Marine in WW2 and famously wrote With the Old Breed. Most know Eugene as a central character in the Band of Brothers follow up The Pacific. His brother Edward, who served in Europe, is mentioned in several episodes and appears in the last episode. Edward was platoon leader on Normandy beach and won a Bronze star for his actions around the time of The Bulge. I would not be purchasing the letter for resale, as like a lot of us I have a collecting overlap between baseball and WW2 often, but with the popularity of The Pacific series I'm certain if you shopped around you could probably get twice the price of your lot or more for that letter alone. I searched around and couldn't find a sale of Edward Sledge's signature, but I do have a decent amount of signatures from Band of Brothers Easy Company veterans and just about anyone even mentioned in that book or series will sell for $50-$75 on the low end. I honestly think if you slapped that letter on eBay, especially around Veterans Day when people are rewatching those series', you could get somewhere in that range fairly easily. I'll offer $30 for that letter alone, as that's about where I'm at on the "hey, that's cool I want that" price, but I also have no problem if you shopped it around a while and see if you can do better. It's such an interesting item that I would have felt terrible if I just purchased it outright while there was a possibility you didn't know the history behind it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Sledge Happy Collecting Steven Finley
