What happened to the 27-foot long bat that was presented to the Red Stockings in 1869 from the Cincinnati Lumber Company? Is it on display anywhere? I landed a copy of the July 24 Harper's Weekly from that year and was admiring the woodcut print of the presentation ceremony. It made me wonder where it went after the ceremony and google wasn't much help.

There is a previous thread on this topic on Net54, and the conclusion was it's lost to time. Nobody knew of its whereabouts, although a couple posters speculated that it was used in the construction of a nearby building. The team soon moved to Boston, so there's a lot of ways it might have disappeared.

Thanks! I tried to search on here but couldn’t figure out the right combination of terms to narrow it down to this. Much appreciated!
