SOLD: 1969 topps baseball complete set less #169(tigers celebrate) - really nice set
first, this set started out as a 591 of 664 partial set purchased from a family member of the original owner of the cards. I removed the partial set from the 9 pocket sheets i received the cards in and placed them in new ultra pro platinum sheets. So i have personally touched and inspected ever card in this set. The cards are quite frankly amazing. They look like they came out of packs and were looked at once and set aside. I would call the condition as sharp, crisp, great gloss, sharp corners, and the feel of the cardboard is like new. I would say 97% of the cards from the original 591 card near set are in this condition and the remaining 3% are decent ex. There are four cards from the original near set (#221 shamsky, #456 harrelson, #459 boswel and #481 melton) that need to be upgraded. The #480 seaver and #485 gaylord perry have great gloss and sharp corners but the seaver is off center and the perry is miscut. The mantle checklist is beautiful! The missing cards from the near set i supplied for the set. I ordered the missing #169 but it never showed up. Most of the cards i supplied are in really nice ex-ex/mt condition. However, there are some that could be upgraded due to bumped corners including #3, 166, 416, 418 and 653. The condition of the stars are as follows: #20 banks (nice gloss, slight bumped corners), #50 clemente (nice corners and gloss), #85 brock (vg minus), #95 bench (nice gloss, light bumped corners, no creases or wrinkles), #100(nice gloss, oc, decent corners, some dirt on card, some warping), #120 rose (decent gloss, bumped corners, upper right crease), #190 mays (decent gloss, bumped corners, lower left front wrinkle, rear loss of ink), #250 reggie jackson (low grade, filler grade), #500 mantle (nice gloss, cardboard feels rigid, no wrinkles or creases, slight corner and left micro edge bumps- still a very nice card), #533 nolan ryan 2nd year (nice solid card, nice gloss, cardboard feels rigid, corners are nice, no wrinkles or creases, not mint but very nice). This is a great set to take to the next level. I reviewed completed sales of other 1969 sets and think i'm putting an attractive, fair price on the set. The price includes insured shipping in a large usps flat rate box. It will be securely shipped in the binder, sheets and star cards in card holders placed in a small box. Payment is via paypal net to me. Add 3% for g/s. Any questions please contact me. Thank you, tom price SOLD Last edited by eliminator; 12-15-2023 at 10:21 PM. Reason: SOLD |
