Default T206 Tolstoi Fred Mitchell — Anyone ever seen one?

Has anyone reading this post ever seen a T206 Tolstoi Fred Mitchell with their own eyes? PSA and SGC both show zero confirmed copies on their respective pop reports. VCP and CardTarget show no reported transactions for this subject. T206 Resource shows it as confirmed. And I wouldn’t be surprised if it does, in fact, exist. But does anyone out there have independent, firsthand knowledge that it does exist?

I checked my Tolstoi records and I don't have any scans or records of a Fred Mitchell or who confirmed it. It's also on Ted's Tolstoi list along with several others that I inquired about but he never responded maybe you can get an answer from him about the Mitchell.

Thank you, Pat. There are at least couple of "pop zero" Tolstoi backs that I know for sure exist. Ira Thomas and Jim Stephens are the two subjects that come to mind. No confirmed copies on the pop reports at PSA or SGC, but I own them both. So I think there's a pretty good chance that a Tolstoi Fred Mitchell exists, too. It's just a matter of either finding someone who can confirm, or eliminating any reasonable likelihood.

No problem. I have been trying to keep track of the Tostoi's for 10+ years and in that time I think they have had more new confirmations than any other back.

When I started tracking them the total PSA pop was 694 as of today it's 1220 also back then there were 207 different Tolstoi's in the PSA pop report and today there is 254 on their pop report list but a few that are on the list have zero pops. I didn't do SGC back then because they didn't have the Tolstoi's separated as of today there are 2112 Tolstoi's with 251 different subjects but one of them is a label error Mordecai Brown Cubs on shirt and another is a MURR'y variation.

I have my total at 252 confirmed Tolstoi's that I know for sure exist.

These are the Tolstoi's that are on different lists as confirmed that I haven't seen.

These three are on t206resource, Ted's list and are pop zeros in PSA's pop report.

Hinchman, Harry
Mitchell, Fred
Smith, Heinie

These Seven are on Ted's list

These six I know exist but are not on Ted's current list

When check listing a T card master set for which I don't have an existing checklist (and some do, there's false ones out there for a lot of things), I have a list of what I suspect exists out there from the patterns I've seen, but a card is only confirmed when someone else produces an image of it, or I can produce one. People's memories, what people think exists, what PSA and SGC put on a sticker label that is often incorrect, and what folks have said they have seen do not count. In this day and age, there is nothing easier than taking a picture to prove it.

The varied T206 master set checklists would be a lot more reliable if a similar standard was present, and the photographic evidence of each card compiled. It's not about doubting a person or a claim, but using the common sense evidence to prevent error.
